The level of highly educated talent available in Michigan has increased each year since 2007, but was five percentage points lower than the “Top Ten” average in 2014. Michigan was among the bottom half of states in terms of educational attainment and was outranked by six of its peer states.

What It Is: Share of residents aged 25 to 64 with an associate degree or higher.

Why It Matters: The availability of highly educated talent can promote future growth of the economy, particularly in highly skilled professions.
